LOCATED at the entrance to Hurstbridge, Wild Wombat Cafe & Bar is an upmarket venue offering an extensive menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Just seven months old, the cafe's warm and charming atmosphere, complemented by the attentive service, makes it an attractive destination, be it for a quick bite or a leisurley meal complemented by local wines.
The head chef has created a menu of simple yet filling options that borders on fine dining.
Among the popular offerings are gourmet crepes, bruschetta, parma and the homestyle lasagne.
The breakfast selection is vast, including egg and bacon roll for $6 and the Big Breakfast for $12.90 (vegetarian option is available).
Standout dishes include Thai beef salad and the Wild Wombat beef burger with chips while the beef wellington, pesto and prosciutto chicken as well as the baked Fish of The Day rate highly with the dinner crowd.
Vegetarians should try the chargrilled vegetable stacks. For desserts, there is the choice of homestyle cakes, grilled fruit skewers and crepes.
Wild Wombat is fully licensed and offers a range of local and imported wines and beers. It is open from 8am until late Monday to Saturday and until 6pm Sunday. Booking is essential.
