WILD WOMBAT was established in 2008 by husband and wife Daniel & Angela during the peak of the GFC. With strong competition already established in the community, they had a vision that they could provide an alternative in food variety, quality and service. Together they have created an eating establishment that has grown and set its own benchmark within the community attracting customers from near and far.
With over 95% of meals made on the premises and produce selected from local suppliers, WILD WOMBAT can create many dishes to cater to the most fussiest of eaters and can also cater to people with special requirements or allergies.
The menu is extensive, the kitchen is tiny, the food is fresh. Although it may take extra time to cook most meals (up to 20-40 minutes on some meals), it is the quality and the freshness that sets WILD WOMBAT apart from other eateries.
Angela
Executive Chef/Owner
With 15 years experience working in a variety of different fields which included Retail, Accounting, Executive Assistant for major CEO's, Management, Hospitality at various Restaurants, Clubs & Taverns, Angela decided to start her own Restaurant with Daniel. The risk was large but the potential for a quality eatery was greater.
After numerous Chef's in the early days, Angela has taken on the roll of Executive Chef growing and perfecting the past menu and maintaining a high level of quality, consistency and fresh cooked meals to order. Angela has earned the respect of diners which travel from various areas to try out the meals that she dishes up.
Angela is constantly looking at ways to improve and looks at providing everyone with a quality meal regardless if it is a small meal or a large main meal.
Daniel
Restaurant Manager/Marketing
With over 20 years experience in management roles across various sectors including Retail, Hospitality, Tele Communications, Sponsorship and Marketing, Daniel has had his standard set at a very high bench mark for perfection.
This high standard was achieved by working at such places as the Hilton Hotel & Savoy Park Plaza to name a few serving top end diners which have included Sir Elton John, Tina Turner, Presidents, Prime Ministers, Celebrities, CEO’s of big companies and the list goes on, while working with some well known Chef’s including Curtis Stone.
Daniel had a vision before WILD WOMBAT was even in the planning stages to offer all customers the service and level of quality required no matter how much they spend so that they may come back. No amount of marketing and advertising will bring people in if the service is not there.
Daniel has achieved this through feedback from regular customers, new customers and also by changing his style to cater to different customers based on past experience. For example, not everyone wants to be fussed over while eating, not everyone wants to be pampered, what they do want is consistency in service, a friendly smile, some chit chat and a relaxing meal which will keep the customers coming back for more.
